The Industrial Technology syllabuses aim at providing technical training in the use of both traditional and new materials, systems and processes related to industry.
Each syllabus organised as a Unit provides a relevant course of study for secondary school students aspiring to careers related to the Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or Building Technology area, and in so doing responds to the need to provide persons with entry level skills for the various fields. |

The syllabus aims to:
- help students adopt good safety, health and environmental practices.
- provide students with the basic concepts and principles used in the electrical field.
- provide students with knowledge of motors, generators and transformers and their use in power generation and distribution systems.
- provide students with knowledge of electrical codes, devices and wiring principles.
- provide students with knowledge of theory and application of electronic devices and circuits.
- provide students with basic knowledge of electronic and electrical drawings and the skill to produce them to engineering standards.
- provide students with the fundamentals of the computer and its application as it relates to the Industrial Technology programme.
- provide students with an awareness of career opportunities that exist in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering and other related fields so that informed decisions can be made with respect to their career path.
