Study Planner

Make a study plan to clarify your thoughts, particularly if the qualification you want offers a wide choice of courses.

Find the basic information

Decide which qualification you’re interested in.
See which courses make up that qualification.

Check whether any of them have eligibility or entry requirements.

Make a note of any compulsory courses.
Work out how much study time you’ll need each week.

Plan your route

Work out your preferred order of study, bearing in mind that we recommend that you progress through Levels 1 and then 2 before going on to Level 3. Take into account:

  • whether the University recommends any sequence of courses
  • the last date that a course might be available

Some people find it helpful to list the highest level courses first and then work backwards to see which lower level courses help to prepare for them. Contact your Regional Centre if you need more guidance.

Check your plan

Check your plan regularly. We update our prospectus from time to time as new courses are introduced and old ones withdrawn. The University may also make changes to the structure and requirements of some qualifications. Bear in mind that course fees are reviewed annually, so your initial plan will only provide an estimate of the costs involved.
